New York Museums

There are too many New York museums to mention so let's get straight into taking a look at some of the best

American Museum of Natural History
For a country as young as the US, it's home to some of the oldest relics in existence today. The skeleton of the famed 'Lucy', the lady, a mere 3.2 million years old can be seen here. There are also many invaluables artifacts as well as planetarium, this really is one of the most well known and admired museums in the world.

The New York Public Library
One of the most authoritative libraries in the world and with a catalogue an amazing array of documentation, this is one of the first landmarks that spring to mind when thinking of New York museums. The building has stood since 1897 and began to alow public access in 1911. At the library's entrance, you will see two statues, lions with the names Patience and Fortitide. These lions are now very much assciated with libraries in general. The library now even has a website which alows free access to reference books, journals, newspapers, and magazines.

The Metropolitan Museum Of Art
Nicknamed 'The Met', here boats the world's largest collection of 20th century art. There are 19 departments, each built around a different theme, such as Egyptian art and musical instruments.

The Museum Of Comic And Cartoon Art
Home to many rare and invaluable works, this New York museum is where you will find references to characters you thought you'd neer see again. A young museum, it opened on Briadway in 2001 and is strong in educations visitors with features such as tutor-based workshops as well as being home to numerous special guests.
